Meet our vibrant young couple and their newborn daughter living in a bustling area of Taipei. They reside in a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house, a precious find in this city where space is a luxury. Luckily, their home is nestled by a hillside. Both working professionals, they cherish their time together at home - lounging in the living room, catching up on TV shows, diving into books, and cherishing moments with their little one.
Understanding their lifestyle, I embarked on a design journey aiming to enhance their living experience. Initially, I decided to open up space by removing a room, expanding the living room and creating a more spacious master bedroom. This transformation not only amplifies the public space but also introduces more natural light, ventilation, and greenery. By adding an extra set of windows, I've elevated the feeling of openness upon entering the home, inviting in stunning views of the nearby mountain, and setting a serene atmosphere.
The newly available area has been cleverly repurposed. A section now serves as a semi- private workspace, while another part is dedicated to a luxurious walking closet attached to the master bedroom.
In terms of design, I've opted for warm oak, light gray stone countertops and floor tiles, and textured Venetian plaster. To enhance specific areas, carefully selected lighting fixtures add a touch of charm. This thoughtful combination fosters a unique and cozy ambiance, tailor-made for this delightful family of three.
