Located in Beitou District, Taipei City, a renowned hot spring area just a 40-minute drive from the bustling downtown, this vacation home was designed with the homeowner's relaxation in mind. As a retreat, it doesn't require a full living space or extensive storage. Instead, it features one reserved bedroom and a versatile multi- functional area for dining, meetings, and resting.

Inspired by traditional Japanese hot spring houses, we aimed to create a serene and tranquil atmosphere. Using wood textures as the primary design element, we infused the space with a Japanese Zen aesthetic. The layout includes an elevated floor area designed as a Washitsu(tatami room), serving multiple purposes: accommodating overnight guests and providing a meeting space for the owner's work needs.

The design incorporates Japanese style with subtle lighting accents. The warm wood tones are complemented by gray stone, tiles, and fabrics, adding depth and character. Thoughtfully displayed, the owner's personal collection gives the space a unique personality that balances tranquility with dynamic functionality.
