The couple, passionate about cooking and wine, made the kitchen and a spacious dining area top priorities. My approach leans toward a serene, uncluttered space rather than overwhelming visual elements.
Initially, we collectively decided to open up the front bedroom by removing part of the partition wall, expanding the living and dining areas, and introducing glass partitions for seamless visibility. I also reworked the second room, accommodating kitchen essentials like the refrigerator and electrical cabinets. This layout yielded a 10-foot kitchen countertop space, an 8.5-foot island bar, and a dining space for at least 6—an ideal setup for culinary enjoyment and hosting gatherings.
Additionally, I planned a 20-foot light-colored display cabinet in the living room, blending with the TV wall and complementing the dark wood chevron pattern. This and the hidden door designs enhanced the sense of continuity and spaciousness. Employing glossy stone floors, dark and light wood textures, gray paint, and stainless kitchen cabinets created an elegant, tranquil ambiance, beautifully showcasing the owners' personal collections and infusing the home with their distinct tastes.
